70cl / 46% / Distillery Bottling – This is the reimagining of Lindores Abbey’s signature whisky, the MCDXIV. The name 1494 references the year of the earliest written record of scotch whisky, when King James IV of Scotland commissioned Friar John Cor of the Lindores Abbey to produce Aqua Vitae. The nose presents with aromas of butterscotch, red apples, and slightly underripe pears. On the palate, the sherry maturation comes through with notes of dried fruits and baking spice, along with vanilla and lemon citrus.
