70cl / 60.2% / Distillery Bottling – The master distiller at Glenallachie, Billy Walker, has long been a champion of oloroso sherry’s influence on whisky, so seeing a 13-year-old single cask release from the distillery entirely matured in an oloroso hogshead is an eyecatcher. Salted caramel, chocolate digestives, light coffee and crystallised ginger on the nose lead to a palate that brings dried fruit, mocha, honey, cinnamon and plum jam. Rich and intriguing.
